MAIN STREET GETTYSBURG RECEIVES MAJOR DONATION
FOR GETTYSBURG WELCOME CENTER PROJECT

Gettysburg, PA (October 20, 2023) – Main Street Gettysburg is honored to receive a MAJOR donation of $9,032 from local retailer Gettysburg Goods for the Gettysburg Welcome Center. Business owner Timbrel Wallace hosted a benefit event on October 14, 2023, from which she donated a portion of the proceeds to Main Street Gettysburg. The donation will be restricted as match funds toward a $20,000 challenge grant from the Adams County Community Foundation.

“We are grateful for the generosity that came out of this special event,” said Main Street Gettysburg President Jill Sellers. “This project is designed to provide support to our downtown businesses, and we are blessed by contributions from many local businesses.”

This generous donation puts the goal of $20,000 within reach. To donate toward the Adams County Community Foundation Challenge Grant in support of the Gettysburg Welcome Center, donations can be made to Main Street Gettysburg through October 31, 2023. Contact 717-337-3491, or online at www.mainstreetgettysburg.org/donate.

Gettysburg Welcome Center is a $1.5 million public facility project, which will create greater accessibility and walkability throughout the historic district. The project is in the center of downtown and will provide tourism, transportation, and event information, as well as public restrooms. Plans include new ADA-compliant facilities and will also be a place for information and directions – for tourism, local events, transportation, volunteer opportunities, and more. The building site at 340 Baltimore Street was generously donated to the Borough for this purpose.
