Finance
The Finance Department, established as a separate department of the Borough in 2004, maintains the financial books and records of the Borough of Gettysburg. The departmental tasks are carried out by a finance director and an accounting clerk.
The major areas of responsibility are:
- Assist the manager in preparation, monitoring and control of the annual budget
- Maintain centralized accounting system
- Preparation of financial reports
- Accounts Payable - pay all Borough bills and liabilities
- Accounts Receivable - create invoices for receipt of fees due to the Borough excluding taxes
- Deposit of Borough receipts and cash management
- Payroll administration
- Debt administration
- Audit coordination
- Accounting rule and law implementation and SEC compliance
- PA Liquid Fuels Fund administration
- Grant tracking
- Asset tracking
