The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Gettysburg. Snowfall will be heavy during the afternoon and evening hours Tuesday into Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Storm TOTAL accumulations will range from 6-12 inches with localized higher amounts.

The impacts of this storm are expected to be dangerous travel conditions on snow covered roads with low visibility. Travel on Borough roads is not advised during the height of the storm. Snowfall will be a heavy-wet snow, causing some tree limbs and power lines to fall, creating power outages. Please remain clear of any downed power lines until utility repairs are complete.

Police and Public Works crews are prepared for the storm and will be on shift during and after the storm to keep roads and alleys passable. All vehicles must be removed from snow emergency routes during a declared snow emergency – enforcement to remove cars from snow emergency routes will begin at 3 PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

Residents are encouraged to park vehicles at the Gettysburg Area Recreation Authority (GARA) on Long Lane and in the Racehorse Alley Garage until the snow emergency is lifted.
