Public Works
The Public Works Department provides the daily direction, planning, coordination, and supervision of numerous and essential public services. Services include street cleaning, snow and ice control, and removal of trash, street light maintenance, cemetery maintenance, storm drain maintenance and replacement, street sign maintenance, bridge building, street construction and maintenance, leaf removal, brush removal, vehicle maintenance, and meter maintenance and repairs.
The department maintains 8.612 miles of alleys and 30.16 lane miles of streets. All of these services are completed with a crew of 7. Included in these staffing levels are Foreman and Public Works Director. The department participates in the Agility Program with neighboring townships which is of financial benefit to the Borough.
