Judith (Judie) Butterfield has long served Gettysburg Borough in various capacities. Prior to joining Borough Council in 2019, she managed the Borough's website and was instrumental in its redesign in 2015, and is equally involved with authoring the Borough's Newsletters. Demonstrating a passion for environmental issues, and as Chair of the Borough's Recycling Committee, Judie is the Borough's primary contact related to the Borough's expanded recycling programs, including the new electroinic device recycling program offered to Borough residents. Most recently, Judie has taken on the role of liaison between the Steinwehr Business Improvement District, the Adams County Transportation Planning Organization, and the Borough Council.
Judie is also actively involved with the Adams County Arts Council. She holds a BS in Education from Auburn University, an MA in Curriculum Design also from Auburn University, and a MS in Counseling and Human Development from Troy University. She and her husband, John, are residents and homeowners in the Borough's Third Ward.
