This workshop will examine the powers and responsibilities elected officials have with comprehensive plans, subdivision and land development, and zoning. It will discuss how elected officials should interact with local planning commissions, zoning officiers, and zoning hearing boards. And, it will discuss how elected officials can act ethically and strategically when faced with divergent community interests in land use and development. This workshop is free and open to municipal officials, staff, planning and zoning hearing boards, as well as interested members of the public.
