Gettysburg, Pa. (Dec. 3, 2019) - A Snowflake Soiree, featuring a choreographed light, pyrotechnic and music show, will kick off A Gettysburg Christmas Festival Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., at the Gettysburg Heritage Center (297 Steinwehr Avenue). After the show, music and dancing in the streets will take place until 9 p.m.—making the event a never-been-done-before experience in Gettysburg.
The event is free and open to the public.
“We can’t wait to kick off this year’s Christmas Festival,” said Deb Adamik, president of Main Street Gettysburg, which is presenting the festival. “In keeping with Main Street’s mission, this event will showcase our community pride in preserving, revitalizing and improving our nationally known downtown. The entire event is the largest of its kind in Gettysburg because it invites the entire community to participate in a way where community activities become the festival experience. There really will be something for everyone—families, Civil War buffs, people who love the holidays. This event brings people together like no other.”
The Snowflake Soiree kickoff event is a special production by Dylan Weibel in collaboration with StarFire Corporation, FireOne and HERC equipment rentals. The music-concert caliber show will feature choreographed lights, pyrotechnics and sound.
Following the show, everyone is invited to enjoy music and dancing in the streets as the beginning of the festival is celebrated in grand style.
The Snowflake Soiree is made possible by the Gettysburg Heritage Center, Appalachian Brewing Company, the Dobbin House, FutureStake Inc., HERC Equipment Rental, Stray Production and an anonymous donor.
A Gettysburg Christmas Festival is made possible by the Gettysburg Heritage Center with support from the Gettysburg Nature Alliance, New Leaf Paper and FutureStake Inc. The Festival is presented by Main Street Gettysburg.
