Finance Department


The Finance Department, established as a separate department of the Borough in 2004, maintains the financial books and records of the Borough of Gettysburg. The departmental tasks are carried out by a finance director and an accounting clerk.

The major areas of responsibility are:

  • Assist the manager in preparation, monitoring and control of the annual budget
  • Maintain centralized accounting system
  • Preparation of financial reports
  • Accounts Payable - pay all Borough bills and liabilities
  • Accounts Receivable - create invoices for receipt of fees due to the Borough excluding taxes
  • Deposit of Borough receipts and cash management
  • Payroll administration
  • Debt administration
  • Audit coordination
  • Accounting rule and law implementation and SEC compliance
  • PA Liquid Fuels Fund administration
  • Grant tracking
  • Asset tracking
