NOTICE OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION HEARING
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM
PROPOSED BUDGET

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough Council of the Borough of Gettysburg will conduct a public hearing on Monday, September 10, 2018 commencing at 6:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Gettysburg Borough Municipal Office Building located at 59 East High Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider public comment and to approve the Borough's 2018 CDBG budget and application submission at the monthly general business meeting of Borough Council to be held immediately following the public hearing.

The Borough of Gettysburg has been notified by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development that the Borough’s 2018 Community Development Block Grant allocation is $123,298.00. The Borough will submit its application to the CDBG program through Adams County during the 2018 program year.

The Borough of Gettysburg proposes to use the Borough’s allocation for the following activities:

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps             $120,298.00
  • Administration of the CDBG Program                                  $3,000.00

In the event that the Department of Community and Economic Development does not approve a project, or if requests are withdrawn, funds may be allocated to other eligible projects.

It is anticipated that the majority of the approved grant funds will benefit low to moderate income persons. Further, it is anticipated that none of the proposed activities will result in temporary or permanent displacement of any households. However, in the event that such displacement should occur, the Borough would use CDBG funds to cover any required costs.

The Borough Council will accept comments on the proposal prior to and at the public hearing. Documents pertaining to the budget and CDBG Program are available for inspection at the Gettysburg Borough Municipal Office Building, 59 East High Street, Gettysburg PA 17325 and on the Gettysburg Borough website, www.gettysburgpa.gov.
