Notice of Public Hearing and Special Meeting
The Borough Council of the Borough of Gettysburg shall hold a public hearing to be immediately followed by a special meeting of the Borough Council to be conducted on Monday, August 22, 2022, with the public hearing commencing at 6:30 p.m., in the Borough Council Chambers at the Gettysburg Borough Municipal Office Building located at 59 East High Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
The purpose of the public hearing is for the Borough Council to provide and receive information and to obtain public comment prior to taking any formal action relative to the possible enactment of proposed text amendments to the Gettysburg Borough Zoning Ordinance. The draft ordinance setting forth the proposed text amendments, if subsequently enacted by the Borough Council, would amend the text of the Zoning Ordinance to clarify definitions and other provisions related to the regulation of short-term lodging bed-and-breakfast, inn and vacation rental uses within the Borough of Gettysburg by amending certain definitions and requirements for such specific uses.
At the special meeting immediately following the public hearing, the Borough Council may take further action on the proposed Zoning Ordinance text amendment, to include the authorization for finalization and publication for subsequent enactment of the proposed zoning text amendment ordinance. The Borough Council may also deliberate and take official action at the special meeting on any other matters of business that may come before it.
The draft ordinance containing the proposed zoning text amendments may be examined without charge, or obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof at the Office of the Borough of Gettysburg from the Assistant Borough Manager/Secretary, during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.). In addition, the draft ordinance containing the proposed zoning ordinance text amendments may be downloaded from the Gettysburg Borough website at www.GettysburgPA.gov .
